Kitchen Fun - Traditional Irish Bread and Butter Pudding
I came across this dessert while I was reading the 2020 Nora Roberts stand-alone book, Hideaway, the review of which is yet pending to be posted. The heroine, Cate Sullivan, learns this from her Irish neighbor Mrs. Leary while she was residing in Ireland. And she makes it for the Cooper's summer barbecue in the book; Cooper being her beau Dillon Cooper.
The way Nora has her character talk about the dish made my mouth water and pronto I looked for a recipe. I found a really easy recipe (which is what I do always - give me 10 recipes and I will pick the easiest and less time consuming. :P) for the same. And so here is my version of the Traditional Irish Bread and Butter Pudding.

Ingredients:
White Bread - 6 Slices
Milk - 1.5 Cups
Eggs - 3 (Large)
Ground Cinnamon - 1/4 teaspoon
Sugar - 3 to 4 tablespoons Or per your taste
Butter - as needed, softened
Raisins - as needed
Whipped Cream - as needed
Preparation Steps:
1) In a large bowl, whisk Eggs, Milk, Sugar and Cinnamon. Keep it aside.
2) Cut the crusts of the Bread slices.
3) Lather one side of the Bread with Butter. Cut them in half in the shape of triangles.
4) In baking dish layer the Bread slices, butter-side up. Sprinkle raisins between the slices and over.
5) Now pour the Egg - Milk mixture soaking every slice. Leave it for 15 minutes so the mixture gets absorbed,
6) Preheat oven to 350F
7) Bake the pudding for an hour or until it is golden brown and risen.
8) Serve hot immediately with a dollop of whipped cream.

Tips:
1) If you want it a little more spicier, add 1/2 teaspoon of Cinnamon.
2) Do not discard the bread crusts. Just cut them into small squares, put it in oven for 10 to 15 mins at 350F and you get fresh croutons for your salads.
Yummy Irish Bread and Butter Pudding that teases all your senses. Enjoy!
