Magic In Tunes: 08/22/2015 – Cinnamon Girl

I was reading Christine Feehan’s Murder Game over the weekend and came across the reference to this song by Neil Young. The lead character gets teased on by his friends by this song since he comes to them smelling of cinnamon after he spends time with his fiancée. All that teasing in the book intrigued me to check the song out.

Its from Neil Young’s 1969 album Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere titled Cinnamon Girl; which was his debut album. The Lyrics were penned by Neil himself. It’s a duet with Vocals by Neil Young and Danny Whitten. They lyrics are very mysterious, love hidden behind the lines. I guess that’s why it intrigued me more. :)

Lyrics in English:

I Wanna Live; With A Cinnamon Girl
I Could Be Happy; The Rest Of My Life
With A Cinnamon Girl.

A Dreamer Of Pictures; I Run In The Night
You See Us Together, Chasing The Moonlight,
My Cinnamon Girl.

Ten Silver Saxes, A Bass With A Bow
The Drummer Relaxes; And Waits Between Shows
For His Cinnamon Girl.

A Dreamer Of Pictures; I Run In The Night
You See Us Together, Chasing The Moonlight,
My Cinnamon Girl.

Pa Sent Me Money Now; I'm Gonna Make It Somehow
I Need Another Chance; You See Your Baby Loves To Dance
Yeah...Yeah...Yeah.
