04/24/2012: Uttappam (Kerala Style) - Next up in Kerala cusine that I tried was the Uttappam. Not that different what I make at home, but still tried this recipe as well.
Procedure: In a bowl add 1 cup of Semolina / Sooji / Rava, Salt per taste and Curd as required. Mix well into a thick batter. Now in a different bowl mix finely chopped veggies (Onion, Tomatoes, Green Bell Pepper) and keep aside. On a non-stick pan / tawa, spray a little oil and pour a spoon full of batter. Spread it evenly and immediately sprinkle the veggie mixture on top. Let it cook until the lower side is golden brown. Turn it over and cook the other side too. Serve hot with Chutney or Chutney Powder or Curd or Pickle.
