02/07/2012: Green Mango Chutney - Another relish that I like with small Green Mangoes is this simple chutney with few ingredients and hardly takes any time to make it. Enjoy the recipe.
Small Green Mangoes - 4 (Peeled and cut into pieces. Remove the seed)
Coconut Powder - 3 tbsps (Use Fresh Coconut Powder if possible, if not frozen or powdered can be used)
Green Chilies - 3 (Cut into big pieces)
Coriander / Cilantro - Handful of sprigs
Salt to taste
Oil - 1.5 tsps
Spices for Seasoning - 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds, 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds, 1/2 tsp Chana Dal, 2 Red Chilies (squished to pieces), 1/2 inch piece Ginger (cut to small pieces)
1) In a blender, put cut Mangoes, Coconut Powder, Green Chilis, Cilantro and Salt, and grind to a coarse paste.
2) Put the paste into a bowl.
3) In a skillet, heat the Oil. Add the spices in order mentioned. Once the spices are fried well, add it to the Mango paste.
4) Green Mango Chutney is ready to be served with Rice, Roti, Idli, Dosa or Poori
