53 Week Journey through the Land of Drapes and Colors: Week #47

For details on all the sarees I have posted so far, go here.

Remember my post about the abandoned railway line photoshoot a couple weeks ago! Well, I found another abandoned place. But this time it was an abandoned theme park inspired by biblical passages, constructed on a small hill in the middle of one of the towns close by. Although the park is closed now, it still has a working chapel and people can visit the grounds.

So, my friend, Preethi, and I decided to take a drive up there and do some fun photoshoot. The place now is really in a state of disrepair, but the roads leading up are still maintained well. We could walk around, looking at the ruins of the once active theme park. The roads actually go up the top of the mountain where a giant cross is hoisted. We had fun walking around, taking some pictures and at the same time looking at the ruins, and the view from the top of the mountain.

I wore this tricolor - pink, cream and green - Chiffon Crepe saree that I bought during my trip to India in January of 2008, a good 13 years ago. The entire saree has beautiful pearl, stone and thread work hand-stitched in pink and white. I paired it with the blouse that came along with the saree, tailor-stitched. I accessorized with gold earrings and necklace; and matching bangles on both of my wrists. The view here is from the top of the hill with the town in the background.
