Magic In Tunes: 07/21/2015 – Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke Hum Se Kuchn Na Bholiye

Its always hard to head back home after a trip to loved ones. Yet work beckons and alas the vacation also concludes. However, the passion to travel, explore new places, meet near and dear is always there to tap into again in a few spaces of time.

This song from the 1967 hit Hindi film Nau Do Gyarah ( = Literal meaning is Nine Two Eleven. The idiom actually means “To Run Away”) depicts very clearly that passion; only I would travel in car or plane rather than a truck / semi-truck. :P Sung by Kishore Kumar, this melody was composed by S. D. Burman and Lyrics penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri. A song truly for a journey that would begin anytime. Or has it already begun? **Wicked Grin**

A few tidbits on the song:

1) The song highlights the sights of Delhi and Agra like India Gate, Taj Mahal, Red Fort, etc.
2) The title of this song became a title of another hit movie made in 1992 starring Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla. Juhi Chawla got the Filmfare Best Actress Award for her role in this movie, the movie also earned the Filmfare Best Film Award. There were other awards too. This movie in itself would become a post for another time.
3) This song is also used in the background in one of the scene from the 1991 hit Hindi film Dil Hain Ki Maanta Nahin ( = The Heart Doesnt Listen) again starring Aamir Khan opposite Pooja Bhatt. This movie in itself would become a post for another time.
