From the 1990 Hindi film Jurm ( = Crime) Sung by Kumar Sanu and Sadhana Sargam. Music composed by Rajesh Roshan and Lyrics penned by Indeevar and Payam Sayeedi. This song is pictured thrice in the movie, one a happy duet which is this one, second a solo Male and third a sad duet. This song has simple lines, lyrics and tunes yet touches you in all those hidden places.

Lyrics in Romanized Hindi:

Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaaye Jab Koi Mushkil Pad Jaaye
Tum Dena Saath Mera O Humnawaaz
Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaaye Jab Koi Mushkil Pad Jaaye
Tum Dena Saath Mera O Humnawaaz
Na Koi Hai Na Koi Tha Zindage Mein Tumhaare Siva
Tum Dena Saath Mera O Humnawaaz
Tum Dena Saath Mera O Humnawaaz

Ho Chaandni Jab Tak Raat Deta Hai Har Koi Saath
Tum Magar Andheron Mein Na Chhodna Mera Haath
Ho Chaandni Jab Tak Raat Deta Hai Har Koi Saath
Tum Magar Andheron Mein Na Chhodna Mera Haath
Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaaye Jab Koi Mushkil Pad Jaaye
Tum Dena Saath Mera O Humnawaaz
Na Koi Hai Na Koi Tha Zindage Mein Tumhaare Siva
Tum Dena Saath Mera O Humnawaaz

Wafadaari Ki Vo Rasmein Nibhayenge Hum Tum Kasmein
Ek Bhi Saans Zindagi Ki Jab Tak Ho Apne Bas Mein
Wafadaari Ki Vo Rasmein Nibhayenge Hum Tum Kasmein
Ek Bhi Saans Zindagi Ki Jab Tak Ho Apne Bas Mein
Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaaye Jab Koi Mushkil Pad Jaaye
Tum Dena Saath Mera O Humnawaaz
Na Koi Hai Na Koi Tha Zindage Mein Tumhaare Siva
Tum Dena Saath Mera O Humnawaaz
Na Koi Hai Na Koi Tha Zindage Mein Tumhaare Siva
Tum Dena Saath Mera O Humnawaaz
Tum Dena Saath Mera O Humnawaaz

Magic In Tunes: 05/24/2015 – Route 66

Route 66 is one of the songs that has been sung by so many singers in so many tunes and tones. Nat King Cole might have first performed on it but this no longer belongs to one singer or band. This song has become a universal song for all those roadtrips one has taken or taking or planning to take. How best can anyone depict their fun of winding thru roads of so many beautiful cities than with these lines.

From the 2006 American animated sports film by Disney titled Cars and Sung by John Mayer. Lyrics penned by Bobby Troup. Music was composed by Randy Neman. Incidentally the film played the original Nat King Cole version and one by Chuck Berry as well. Here is the video for the John Mayer version though (not the original video from the film..alas couldn’t find it).

Lyrics in English:

Well If You Ever Plan To Motor West
Travel My Way, Take The Highway That's The Best
Get Your Kicks On Route 66

Well It Winds From Chicago To LA
More Than Two Thousands Miles All The Way
Get Your Kicks On Route 66

Well It Goes To St. Louis
Down To Missouri
Oklahoma City Looks Oh So Pretty
You'll See Amarillo
Gallup, New Mexico
Flagstaff, Arizona
Don't Forget Wynonna
Kingman, Barstow, San Bernardino

Won't You Get Hip To This Kindly Tip
And Go Take That California Trip
Get Your Kicks On Route 66

Well It Goes To St. Louis
Down To Missouri
Oklahoma City Looks Oh So Pretty
You'll See Amarillo
Gallup, New Mexico
Flagstaff, Arizona
Don't Forget Wynonna
Kingman, Barstow, San Bernardino

Won't You Get Hip To This Kindly Tip
And Go Take That California Trip
Get Your Kicks On Route 66
