Magic In Tunes: 04/19/2015 – Telephone Dhwani La Navve Daanna / Telephone Dhun Mein Hasne Waali
From the 1996 Telugu action-thriller hit film Bharateeyudu that was originally made in Tamil as Indian and dubbed into Telugu and Hindi as Hindustani. When I first heard the song, it made me wonder why anyone would have a laugh like the ring of a telephone. The lines literally mean that “The one who laughs like the ring of a telephone”. Considering the period this film was made where landlines were more prevailing than cellphones, I would really wonder if any girl would want her laugh to sound like “Trring Trring” or “Ring Ring”. However, if we take the current era of cell phones, we can perhaps imagine that the guy has recorder her laughter for his ringtone and that probably makes sense. Interesting enough all three languages had the same line. Maybe one of my followers can unravel the mystery for me. :)
